3 BUSINESS CHALLENGES (AND SOLUTIONS) EVERY SMALL BUSINESS FACES

Every big business once started small. We have all been there; we all face the same problems. So here are some changes you can make today to make your big problem seem a little smaller.

Finding Customers A.K.A Customer Acquisition

Every business, every day, is working to do precisely this. We are all looking for customers in every and any way we can find them.

The Fix

The key to finding your customers without wasting time is knowing your customer. I mean knowing the ins and outs of your target market. Advertising and customer acquisition are a waste of time and money to all the wrong people! So know your customer, understand their interest, who they listen to, where they hang out, where they spend their money, how they are influenced etc. Once you know all about your customer, you will be able to specifically cater content to them and reach them on platforms they are on, with messages they care about. I always use the classic example that, let’s say you are advertising adult diapers, you likely aren’t going to promote them on Instagram Reels.

Increase Brand Awareness

If your customers don’t know who you are, how will they buy from you? Building brand awareness has become a massive focus of marketers in the last decade. With so much competition, they need to make sure they have your eyes and consideration during the purchase journey.

The Fix

Brand awareness generates a form of trust in your brand. The more someone is aware of your brand, the review, the product, and who it genuinely is, the more they trust them and are willing to buy from them.

They can be divided into some small categories, but we will focus on the main ones.

  1. Be consistent on social media. Easy as that. Stay consistent and focus on reaching new accounts within your target market daily.

  2. Partner with another local business and piggyback off of their following trust. Small businesses want to help other small businesses. So find a business buddy and do a collaboration together!

Keeping Customers Happy

As we all know in today’s review say world, this is a problem. You get one negative Karen with a bad experience, and all is downhill.

The Fix

Again, you need to understand your customer. Understand why your customer chooses you over your competitor. What is it you do better or that they just like about you more?

You need to set expectations at the beginning of the purchase process. For example, if you know shipping will be a week, don’t tell them four days so that you get their sale; they won’t recommend you or buy from you again. Instead, be honest with them and find ways to exceed their expectations that you’ve already HONESTLY set.

Ask them for their feedback and if it is negative, ask them for a chance to fix their experience. It will go a very long way instead of a negative review ripping you apart because they are having a bad day.

Like we said from the beginning, every single business faces these problems. But with a clear strategy, you can overcome each of these. Start applying them today!

Happy posting!
